The name Eminate was derived from Joseph Scalia’s two classically named children, Emily and Nathaniel. The names combined perfectly and stood as a metaphor for the business model. Eminate Development’s mission is to combine the best the Hamptons has to offer, location, luxury amenities and classic style, into perfect properties at perfect price points. Eminate makes no compromises when it comes to location, materials, amenities and finishes, taking on no more than two projects per year, and striving to set a new standard in Hamptons beach living where nothing is sacrificed and everything is gained.

Joseph Scalia - President

Originally from St. James Long Island, Joseph Scalia enjoyed several family vacations in the Hamptons while growing up. Some of his best childhood memories were made there so he wanted his own children to have similar experiences. Scalia started building in the Hamptons in 2008 and never turned back. He tapped into his understanding of the area and combined that with an innate talent for design and project management. When Scalia isn’t building homes in the Hamptons he is a board certified Family Medicine physician in Raritan, NJ with his wife Lisa and their 2 children. They continue to build homes and memories together in the Hamptons every year.
